Webster MUN Vienna Webster Model United Nations Conference (WebMUN) is organized by students at Webster University Vienna and strives to innovate Model UN.

Webster Model United Nations Conference 2020 (WebMUN) will be the seventh annual conference taking place at Webster University Vienna. We cordially invite you to take part in this great experience. Located in Vienna's historic 2nd district, this conference will sure be a great experience and learning opportunity for all delegates. The Conference will consist of 5 interconnected committees:

Diplomatic Corps
Press Committee

The topic of this year's conference is "Global Security in an Age of Rising Populism and Economic Uncertainty". This year we take on the issue of how to ensure the continued prosperity of our society in the face of a threatened system of security. Delegates will be faced with the task of battling current social and economic issues, such as discussing oil prices the consequences of Brexit, and tackling security issues, such as terrorism and nuclear weapons.

The safety and well-being of our team, as well as the attendees to our yearly conference is of utmost importance.

Anna is an undergraduate International Relations student at Webster Vienna with minors in Economics and Philosophy. Originally from Ukraine, she came to Vienna to continue her academic studies and professional development in the public policy field. Anna has a wide array of interests ranging from humanitarian aid affairs to global economic disparities. The Press Committee will work independently from the rest of the committees. It will be composed of delegate reporters, who will be taking notes and pictures, writing articles, filming, and collaborating with WebMUN’s Media Team during the conference.🎥

Today we will be introducing you to the General Assembly, one of the six main organs of the UN. All 193 Member States of the Organization are represented in the General Assembly. They discuss and work together on a wide array of international issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations, such as development, peace and security, international law, etc.🌎

CHECK OUT WEBMUN'S COMMITTEES❗

This year WebMUN will consist of 6 committees: General Assembly, Security Council, ECOSOC, OPEC, Diplomatic Corps and Press. As well as of 193 member states, and a high level of interconnectivity!🌏

❗Most importantly, the structure of the committees aim to support the *interconnectivity aspect* of the conference. The composition of countries in the committees is similar, thus a country is represented in several committees. The delegates representing these countries will then meet to discuss and co-ordinate their country's efforts and policies in all various committees.
