My birthday tree! LYCHEE! For everyone's birthday, we buy a tree and plant it 🤠 And of course, every possible pay day we can 😉 After all, once we finish our orchard, we'll we starting on our food forest! 🌴🌱🌿🪴🍒🫒🍇

Pretty excited that one of our newest hens is laying eggs! How cute is it? 👏

Soon we will have 5 hens laying eggs which is plenty for our family of 4 & allows us a little surplus for neighbours or family.

Always planning to expand though 🤠 so we can give back to the community too.

Our Story

We are a family of three: Gerard, Amanda & our beautiful son, Bodhi. We are the happy owners of ‘Greenacres’, a 5 acres property outside of Gympie, QLD located en route to the spectacular Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island. Forty minutes from Noosa and 2 hrs drive from Brisbane. Our scenic country town is proudly becoming part of the Sunshine Coast Region! We offered our property as somewhere travelers, old friends and new friends, could camp as they were travelling through or visiting the area.

This service was what this page was dedicated to...and may well be again in the future!

But in 2018, when Bodhi was to be born, Canberra was calling Gerard for a new career opportunity. So when Bodhi was 4 weeks old, we packed up our house and moved interstate! In the middle of a Canberra winter and whilst I was recovering from a cesarean. A combination I do not recommend doing! After settling into parenthood, a new city and new jobs (I now work for the same company), we both decided to return to part time uni as well.

We found ourselves being swallowed up by the rat race again. Commuting, working outside of business hours, loaded up with study, not getting outside and not really communicating. We found that we couldn’t really change our work, uni or parenting situation - so we decided to reassess how we lived. Some might say, a little to the extreme...
