How Paperbark Farm Supports People with Disabilities 🐑
At Paperbark Farm, we provide a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where people with disabilities can connect with nature, animals, and meaningful hands-on activities.
Our hobby farm offers opportunities to build confidence, independence, social skills, and practical life skills through engaging farm experiences. Participants can interact with our friendly goats, chickens, ducks, horses, pigs and sheep, helping to feed, care for, and learn about the animals in a safe and relaxed setting.
The farm also features a garden house and vegetable gardens where participants can plant seeds, nurture plants, learn basic gardening skills, and experience the satisfaction of growing their own food. These activities encourage responsibility, patience, sensory engagement, and a sense of achievement.
Paperbark Farm provides a peaceful outdoor environment that supports wellbeing, reduces stress, and encourages physical activity. Participants can bring & enjoy morning tea, afternoon tea, or lunch in our sheltered gathering area, creating opportunities for social interaction, friendship, and community connection.
For groups or individuals wanting a longer farm experience, camping is available on-site, allowing participants to enjoy nature, develop independence, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Facilities include a sheltered activity area/camp kitchen, fire pits and a portaloo toilet for convenience and accessibility.
At Paperbark Farm, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of animals, nature, learning, and connection. Our farm provides meaningful experiences that promote wellbeing, personal growth, inclusion, and community participation.
