Hannah Potter launches her haunting debut single at The Retreat Hotel, Brunswick on Thursday May 28.

An evocative artist whose work lives in the tension between tenderness and brutality, nostalgia and confrontation, Hannah Potter’s songwriting is grounded in a lifelong attempt to understand human behaviour, connection and displacement.

Opening the night is a solo performance from noir jazz queen Ebi Nori of the goth post-punk band Ebi Nori & The Phantom Fingers; followed by the brilliantly batsh*t balaclava-clad crooner Uncle Quentin, performing his signature sincere ballads concerning Q***r experience of love, destruction, longing & disgust.

NPC are a newly formed Melbourne based shoegaze/emo rock outfit. With a growing stack of originals, the band are keen to cut their teeth in the Melbourne music scene. Their sound leans into dense guitars with driving rhythm and a washed-out melancholic edge.
