Meet Sambar Hills firewood crew man — Frankie Keith, 9 years old, learning the old-school way.

No fancy kindling splitter here. Just an axe, a chopping block, a little patience and plenty of supervision 🫠

There’s something pretty special about kids learning the simple skills — how to swing an axe, split the kindling and understand that the warm fire our guests enjoy doesn’t just magically appear.

Every basket of firewood has a little work behind it… and this week, Frankie’s doing his share. 😂

From caring for the vines that produce our w**es to splitting the firewood that keeps our guests cosy, there's not much Jamie doesn't do. If something needs fixing, building, mowing, pruning, or maintaining, chances are he's already onto it.
A lot of what makes Sambar Hills special happens behind the scenes, and Jamie is a huge part of that.
Next time you visit, you'll be enjoying the results of countless hours of hard work, long days, and plenty of passion for this little corner of the King Valley.
