There is a wonderful depth of history woven through Houghton, a place shaped by early settlers, shared community life, and a quiet resilience that still lingers today.
Laid out in the 1840s as one of the earliest settlements in the district, Houghton was modelled on a traditional English village, and many of its stories remain visible in the stone buildings, winding streets, and gentle landscape.
A stay at Robenia’s Cottage offers time to wander, explore local history, and enjoy the slower rhythm of life, while still being only a short drive to the Adelaide Hills and Barossa wine regions.
We currently have a small number of dates available over the coming weeks that are especially suited to quiet holiday stays. If you’re planning a relaxed escape, feel free to message us.
*** From time to time, we release a small number of short-notice dates at softer pricing for quiet holiday stays (rather than events).
If you’re flexible and looking at February or early March, feel free to send us a private message and we’ll let you know what’s currently available.
