This morning in Launceston began grey, foggy and a little uninspiring… but don’t let that fool you.
Just a 15-minute walk into the Gorge and it was a completely different world—blue skies, sunshine, and some of the most breathtaking scenery you’ll find anywhere.
If you’re visiting Launceston, my advice is to venture beyond the shops for a few hours. The Duck Reach walk through the Gorge leads to the historic power station and suspension bridge. While the track has a few challenging sections and isn’t suited to everyone, those who make the journey are rewarded with spectacular views, peaceful bushland, and the feeling of being miles away from everything.
It’s one of those places that leaves you feeling refreshed, invigorated and so glad you made the effort.
And when you’ve finished? Reward yourself with a stop at Juice Bar 55 on your way back to the Seaport or into the city. It’s the perfect way to end a memorable morning exploring one of Launceston’s hidden treasures.
