Let’s give it up For Charlize - At just 14 years of age, Charlize Sanstoupet is an exceptional young coach who demonstrates leadership, maturity and dedication well beyond her years. Flames Basketball Club is incredibly proud to nominate Charlize for Junior Female Coach of the Year.
Charlize currently coaches two Flames girls’ teams, including our U12 A Grade Opals, successfully balancing these responsibilities alongside her own representative basketball commitments and education. Her ability to confidently lead young players, communicate with parents and officials, and manage the responsibilities of coaching at such a young age is remarkable.
Charlize has earned the genuine respect of her players and families through her patience, basketball knowledge, professionalism and positive approach. She understands that junior coaching is not simply about winning games; she focuses on developing confidence, skills, teamwork and a genuine love of basketball in every player.
A natural leader, Charlize has held numerous leadership positions throughout her schooling and continues to lead by example both on and off the court. Her coaching potential has already been recognised, having been shortlisted for the 2025 Domestic Female Junior Coach role within Wyndham Basketball Association.
Charlize represents everything we want our young Flames coaches to become: confident, committed, respectful and inspiring.
