This Mother’s Day, we’re giving you the chance to WIN the ultimate staycation at the Glenferrie Hotel; complete with bubbles on arrival, cosy comforts, and a few extra treats to make her feel truly special.

Meet our Head Chef, Sudeep. He's a finalist for Chef of the Year 2026 with the AHA awards!
We asked him a few questions about why he cooks, where his passion started, and we thought we would share it with the people he cooks for.

Chef, how long have you been cooking for?
Cooking became part of my life from an early age, my parents lived in different cities. I still remember my first effort to cook - I completely burnt the rice! Over the years I learnt to improve, and eventually mastered even the simplest things, like cooking the perfect rice.

How would you describe your meals?
The sole purpose of my meals is to elevate even the most simple ingredients. Comfort on a plate, my basic concept; look good, smell good, taste great.

What excites you with your cooking?
When someone takes their first bite of my meal and their face changes. The thought of their joy excites me the most.
