🔥 Experienced Grill & Pans Chef

The Royal Hotel Mornington | Mornington, VIC

We’re looking for an experienced Grill & Pans Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen team.

If you’re confident running your own section during busy services, thrive under pressure and take pride in producing consistent, high-quality food, we want to hear from you!

With a minimum of 3 years’ experience working across grill and/or pans sections, you’ll play an important role in delivering smooth, efficient services across our busy hotel venue.

👨‍🍳 About the Role

You’ll be responsible for independently managing the Grill or Pans section during lunch and/or dinner service, while working closely with the wider kitchen team.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Running the grill or pans section independently during busy services
* Cooking steaks, burgers, seafood, pasta and other menu items to specification
* Maintaining exceptional consistency, quality and presentation
* Working efficiently to meet service times during high-volume periods
* Completing thorough preparation and ensuring your section is fully stocked for service
* Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient workstation throughout your shift
* Following food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures at all times
* Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service
* Communicating effectively with the team during busy periods

⭐ About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

* Minimum 3 years’ experience working in grill and/or pans sections
* Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, pub or bistro
* The ability to confidently run a section independently
* Strong understanding of cooking temperatures and food quality
* The ability to remain calm and perform under pressure
* Excellent time management and attention to detail
* A strong work ethic and positive attitude
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Availability to work **evenings, weekends and public holidays**
* **Cert III in Commercial Cookery** preferred, but not essential for candidates with strong relevant experience

📋 References Required

Two hospitality references must be provided as part of your application.

At least one reference must be from a Head Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager who can speak directly to your experience working in a high-volume kitchen environment.
