𝗔𝗟𝗚𝗔𝗟 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗠 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘
Point Turton is hot topic at the moment so we thought we would give you all an update rather than replying to all of the messages individually.
Yes, the algal bloom has unfortunately landed itself in our waters! We are devastated! 😢
We have seen the impacts on our marine life which is truly heartbreaking! 💔 We want to be really clear… we have had constant messages about Sally & Steve as a result of numerous posts and comments on social media stating that they have died!
While we do not know the fate of Sally & Steve and all of our beautiful marine species, we can tell you that with many locals taking an invested interest in this space there is and has not been any evidence that they are no longer with us. All we can do is wait until the bloom passes and hope that we see them again! Let’s all hope they have travelled to clear waters for the time being! 🤞
In terms of travel, the cancellations are coming in hard and fast! The flow on effect to businesses in our small town and region is huge. It hurts!
Please know that we need you and our town needs your support now more than ever!!! 😎
While the bloom is devastating it’s not all doom and bloom!! Big boats can travel out to clear waters to fish, try your luck at land based fishing (we can send you in the right direction) or explore the many attractions that the Southern Yorke Peninsula has to offer. The best thing about the Yorke Peninsula is that everything is close by! There is still so much to see and do!
✨🤍
To all of the beautiful people that have sent messages and called just to check in, we appreciate you! 🙏
To all of our wonderful guests that have offered kind support while watching everything unfold around us, we feel so blessed for our little caravan park community. 🥰
Please be patient with us over the next few weeks and if you are planning to take a little holiday we will be here waiting for you! Xx
