The session brought together a strong line-up of industry experts, with Besa Deda (Chief Economist, William Buck), Paul Hammond (Sales - Pacific, STR), Chris Boyd (Senior Associate, JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group) and Antony Frino (Market Team Manager, Booking.com) sharing insights on the economy, hotel market performance, investment activity and evolving traveller trends.

Speakers noted that while businesses continue to face economic uncertainty, cost pressures and global volatility, current indicators suggest travel demand remains relatively resilient, investor interest in Australian hotel assets continues, and Sydney and NSW remain attractive destinations for visitors.

"New South Wales is already a visitor economy powerhouse, but we are able to make it even higher with our 2035 visit economy strategy targeting $91 billion in visitor expenditure by 2035” said the Hon. Steve Kamper MP, Minister for Lands and Property, Multiculturalism, Sport, Jobs and Tourism at last week’s Accommodation Australia NSW Chairman’s Drinks.

Held at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, the event brought together hotel GMs, Corporate Partners and Industry to reconnect and look ahead to the year. As AA NSW General Manager Stacey McBride noted, "it was a welcome opportunity to raise a glass before the year’s demands take over".
