We promise this is the last time we will do this in 2026 but ladies and gentlemen it’s time to put your hands together for your new Japan trip dad… Aidan Mannasz
Aidan first joined the club in 2025 and had absolutely no mates, but 3 trips later (Thredbo, New Zealand and Japan ) he has somehow forced his way into all our lives and it seems he is here to stay.
Aidan claims he is fluent in Japanese 🇯🇵 but don’t let that fool you, it’s all Google Translate and anime shows that have taught him what to say. If you hear him confidently speaking Japanese, there’s a very high chance he’s just ordering ramen or asking where the nearest onsen is.
Aidan strives to have the most nonchalant vibe and approach to life in Macalpine, but deep down he really does care. He makes an effort to ensure everyone is well fed on the trips by cooking some of the best meals you may ever get the chance to eat 🍳🔥. And not only is the food mouth-watering and an absolute feast… so is Aidan when he cooks as it is apparently compulsory that he is topless, accompanied only by a single tea towel flung over his shoulder.
As an avid gym goer, weakness isn’t something Aidan likes to associate himself with… but one thing that will always get him is the charm and good looks of this year’s Vice President because Aidan ALWAYS buys him countless drinks. So if you see Trip Dad out and about tonight, buy him a drink, he has probably already spent all his money on Groves.
But in all seriousness, Aidan has become an absolute staple of the club over the last year. Whether it’s cooking up a storm, organising chaos behind the scenes, or just being someone everyone loves having around, he genuinely makes every trip better
So please raise your glasses for your 2027 Japan Trip Dad…
