Festival fever is also set to sweep the Burnett in September as the Queensland Heritage Rally comes to town to turn back time with a wide array of historical machinery displays and demonstrations.
The Rally is Queensland’s premiere event for collectors,
restorers and vintage machinery enthusiasts with the 2022 event proudly hosted by the Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Inc. at their club grounds out at the airport over three massive days on September 16, 17 & 18.
If you’re an Aussie machinery enthusiast this is definitely an event you don’t want to miss as the feature for this year’s event is anything and
everything Australian made!
We caught up with Charmaine Osborne the Secretary for QHR Event for a quick Q & A
Q) what will some of the highlights be at this year’s Rally?
A) Not only will a huge display of machinery from yesteryear be on display, there will be continuing displays using these machines demonstrating the way our early farming community carried out the workings of their farms.
Q) why is the rally in Kingaroy this year?
A)The Qld Heritage Rally committee contacted our club to host the QHR Event this year. The event is only held every 2 years & a club from a Qld town is picked to host this event by the QHR committee. Our event is similar, but on a much larger scale to our yearly rally.
Q) what can first time attendees expect to get out of coming to this year’s rally?
A) Visitors will be amazed at the use of horses and the equipment that they used in the early days, the innovation of the peanut industry & the local input into the mechanization of this industry as well as the huge array of tractors & machinery that evolved throughout the last century. There will also be a large display of vintage & veteran cars, trucks, bikes & any other machines born out of the last century.
