From today we have permanently closed our accommodation. It’s always been a comfy, cheap and cheerful way to end your night here at Sporties, but unfortunately it’s time has come to an end.

The Sporties family mourns the passing of Laurence Deane (Dame Sybil Von Thorndyke) after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Dame Sybil founded the Queens Ball Awards, currently the longest continually running LGBTQIA+ event in the world. They were also an inaugural inductee into the Sporties Drag Hall of Fame in 2017 alongside Dame Liz Taylor, Miss Synthetique and Wanda D’Parke.
