Situated in Yackandandah, a heritage village close to Victoria’s alpine region, we advertise on Airbnb or offer discount rates to folk on this page via a private message. Set in the picturesque former gold mining town of Yackandandah in the foothills of Victoria’s alpine region, High Country Outlook B&B is in close proximity to the historical town of Beechworth, the pretty alpine villages of Brigh

t, Harrietville and Mt Beauty, and an easy drive to Falls Creek, Victoria’s largest ski resort and the only ski-in/ski-out snowfield in Australia. Inside our adults-only self-contained private retreat guests will find everything they need to provide a comfy home-away-from-home for two in a separate self-contained suite attached to the front of our home. Privacy is guaranteed as there is a locked soundproof door between your space and ours and the only shared area is the Oasis Room housing the heated swimming pool. Guests have access to safe parking in a dedicated alcove adjacent to the street. Our B&B is advertised on Airbnb, or we offer discount rates if you wish to contact us directly by email or private message. Since opening, we have continually been awarded Superhost status by Airbnb due to always receiving five star reviews from past guests. We are also classed as ‘Covid-safe’ due to our strict cleaning measures. Please check our listing on their website for confirmation.

Today I was involved in a get-together with other Victorian Snowfields B&B hosts at the Mosaic Trail beside the Ovens River in Myrtleford, just a hop, skip and jump down the highway from Yack.

I think I’m in the old classic movie ‘Raintree County’ whenever we go to tabletennis and sit beneath this magnificent elm - the light added the perfect effect to its magnificent sweeping branches.

Love his easy-going rendition - this is why we feel so blessed to now be living in the gorgeous little heritage-listed country town of Yackandandah after spending 14 years in a 3-bedroom apartment on the 9th floor in the Brissie CBD.
It was perfect for that period of our lives, but now we sit back and enjoy experiencing the four distinct seasons, our glorious views over the foothills of the high country, being entertained by all of our feathered and furry visitors, along with the added joy of sharing all this serene goodness with others in our self-contained B&B.
AB has always been my favourite poet and his MFSR gave me a passion for horses and exploring the countryside from a very young age ⛰️🐎🏞️🦅

The town centre is looking beautiful as November slips in: the huge oaks lining the Main Street are showing off their new spring leaves, the flower tubs are bursting with colour and the old shopfronts always add interest … and some even bring a dash of elegance to the streetscape.
