Pro-Tip: The "Clockwise" Room Cleaning SOP
To ensure nothing is missed and to save time, always clean the room in one direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise). This prevents "backtracking" and keeps your energy high!
1. The Entry & Strip-Down
Knock & Announce: Always knock three times and say "Housekeeping" before entering.
Open the Windows: Let fresh air in and turn off the AC to save energy.
Strip the Bed: Remove soiled linens and towels. Shake them out carefully to ensure no guest belongings (like phones or jewelry) are caught inside.
Clear Trash: Empty all bins and replace liners.
2. The Bed Making (The Heart of the Room)
Inspect the Mattress: Ensure the protector is clean.
The Hospital Corner: Ensure the sheets are pulled tight with crisp, 45-degree angles at the corners.
Pillow Talk: Ensure pillow openings face inward (toward each other) for a neat look.
3. Dusting & Wiping (Top to Bottom)
High Dusting: Start with ceiling fans, vents, and the tops of wardrobes.
Surface Level: Wipe mirrors, TV screens (use a microfiber cloth!), and tabletops.
Sanitization: Pay extra attention to "High-Touch" points:
Remote controls
Light switches
Door handles
Telephone handsets
4. Bathroom Brilliance
Chemical Dwell Time: Spray the toilet and shower first; let the chemicals sit for 5–10 minutes while you do other tasks.
Scrub & Rinse: Clean the vanity, then the shower, and finally the toilet.
Dry Polish: Always use a dry cloth to polish chrome faucets—this is what makes the bathroom "sparkle" for the guest.
5. Final Touch & Floor
Replenish: Restock tea/coffee, water, and toiletries.
Vacuum/Mop: Start from the farthest corner and work your way out toward the door.
The Final Look: Stand at the door, take one last look, and spray a light room
