It’s so good to see the gardens coming alive, filling in; starting to look like the painterly ephemeral space we envisioned. This week brings us large blocks of native deschampsia punctuated by exploding stars of alliums, swaths of purple salvias, and the frilly fronds of yarrow. Every day is different, but today under the cloudy sky they are magical.

And if you’re wondering - every suite has a view to the gardens - so you won’t miss out.

We’re delighted to share that Cocoa Cortado Cakes is now part of the guest experience at The Liberty Inn. 🍰✨

Cocoa Cortado is owned by Rachel, an incredibly talented baker who also happens to own one of the best cafés around — Tin Roof Café in Erin. Her cakes are crafted with intention and artistry, blending unforgettable flavours with delicate florals and organic textures for a naturally elegant finish.

Whether you’re marking a birthday, an anniversary, a proposal, or simply the joy of being away together, Rachel’s cakes add a thoughtful and meaningful touch to special occasions during your stay.

We feel truly fortunate to have such talent nearby, and we’re thrilled to make her creations available to our guests. Here’s to celebrating more of life’s memorable moments — sweetly and in great company.

A heartfelt thank you to for including The Liberty Inn in their latest issue. As a family-run inn in the heart of Caledon, it means so much to be recognized among some of the country’s most inspiring places, makers, and hospitality leaders.

This project has been a labour of love — from hand-built tiles and stoneware crafted across the road in our ceramics studio, to the gardens we tend through all seasons, to the experiences we curate with intention and care. Every detail has been rooted in something we value deeply: connection, craft, and creating space to slow down.

To see that reflected back to us — and shared with such a wide and thoughtful audience — is incredibly meaningful.

Thank you to Canada’s 100 Best, and thank you to everyone who has stayed with us, supported us, celebrated here, or simply believed in what we’re building.

When we first imagined The Liberty Inn, we pictured it as a place for milestones — anniversaries, proposals, “we finally made time for this,” and all the quiet in-between moments that never get posted but matter deeply.

This year, that idea stopped being ours alone.

Every guest who walked through the doors helped shape what this place has become. We’ve seen engagements, honeymoons, significant birthdays, reunions — and people who came simply because life was loud and they needed somewhere calm.

It has meant more to us than we expected.

As we head into our first Christmas here, we wanted to create something that feels just as intentional as the stays themselves.

So we made gift certificates — handwritten with your note, wax-sealed, with two Liberty Inn postcards inside, all in a thick deep-green holiday envelope.

For November and December, we’re covering shipping —
There’s no expiry and no rules attached. Just something someone can open once — and look forward to twice.
