We agree 💯 Cheticamp is absolutely stunning. 😍
Lucky to live here is a massive understatement. We're a bit spoiled, and we're ok with that! ;)

Side note...its giving sun all week with higher temps. 🌞 🥵

Oh Chéticamp - for thou art BEAUTIFUL. But FREEZING, as the 1st of June approaches...

As Auld Betty, mah wee Scottish granny (who's almost precisely the same size as one of Lambert and Butler f**s she so greedily devours) oft' proclaims: "It's at times like this ah wish I hid body fat tae keep the chills oot..."

Aye - we were like wee frozen snotters today, iced to the skinny minny bones, but it was SO worth it. The landscape was on the chilly side, but that place is STUUUUUUUNING...

Da Smoky Fish will be returning for a swim in the Ocean View lot this summer.
Always a great burger on the menu, fabulous seafood and perhaps a smoked treat. ;)

Over the last 2 seasons Ocean View Motel & Chalets has gone through some wonderful changes.
Renovations started in the guesthouse giving our guests an option that could sleep 8 people. We've since moved on to the deluxe chalets with a more modern touch. All flooring in the chalets has been updated also adding a more modern, comfortable decor.
The motel section has also been updated with a new look and a/c for those hot summer nights. And we cant forget our communal area with barbecues, fire pits and our colorful adirondack chairs.
Everything was made possible because of our local resources. Cheticamp has much to offer for a small rural community. People visit for the culture, hospitality, entertainment and cuisine however no one realizes the gam of resources that are available in the community.... the carpenters, electricians, plumbers, welders, backyard creators, there is just so much more.
This is a shout out to them!

Today is the day.... 70 teams are currently running through the highlands in the Cabot Trail Relay Race. Good luck to all runners, its a beautiful day, have fun!

They will be coming through Cheticamp after midnight, in the wee hours.

The Chéticamp meat pie....known to locals as "Pâté", is a very well known "meal in itself" in this neck of the woods. 😋
Traditionally a Christmas time bake for many households in the area and for many Chéticantains who live away. However you can always find one, or two ;) at Aucoin Bakery Ltd. just down the road.
A fluffy thick biscuit dough stuffed with a slowly simmered and litely seasoned treat of minced chicken and pork or perhaps you prefer the beef and pork combination.
Not to be confused with the Québec tortière, "le pâté" de Chéticamp is a true Acadian delicacy.
Have you tried the Chéticamp meat pie?
Im sure some of you have wonderful memories that involve le pâté à mémère...

While visiting us, you need to add a visit to our popular bakery to your itinerary. ;)
