🎉 General tips when presenting activities to the child:
✨ Observe the child
✨ Present activities that spark intrinsic interest
✨ SHOW the child the activity. This can be casual or more formal. Sit / stand on your child's dominant side. Use slow hands and omit words so they can focus on what you are doing. Follow the left to right sequence.
✨ Invite the child to try the activity
✨ Avoid correcting- simply take note and present the activity again at a neutral time; as long as they aren’t hurting themself, others or the environment.
✨ Once done, model putting the activity away- in the child’s work space.
✨ Allow space to explore and practice the activity as they wish.
🎉 These are general techniques that you can use when presenting any type of activity, especially in the first plane of development (0-6 years).
Give this a try and let me know how it goes!
