It is hard for me to believe that I have been open for almost three years now. As a business owner, there are days when this old body's get up and go has gone out the door...but the opportunity to meet so many wonderful guests spurs me onward. This is what my carriage house looked like before and after the upper deck went on. My guests have commented to me that they love having morning coffee on the upper deck in this quiet neighbourhood and take in the scenery.

I haven't posted in a bit, but I am having such a wonderful, busy summer so far. I love welcoming back return guests and greeting new ones...people from all over North America and some from the UK. I will look forward to a break in the fall to recharge my batteries...this old gal isn't getting any younger...lol.

I am now sponsoring another sports event here in Grand Forks...the Grand Forks International Baseball Tournament. They put up my banner on the Hwy side, so I took a picture from across the street. Yahooo!

Karina and Nick stayed for three nights and unfortunately our appointment to have cement poured for our new patio on the Friday before their arrival was delayed because of rain and re-booked during their second day. A pumper truck and cement truck arrive at 7 am during morning coffee...yes I let them know the day they arrived...they were so nice about it. They left today and when I went up to clean the suite I found this wonderful surprise...our guests are the best!!

A lot of people ask me, when do I pay for my booking. My Airbnb suite is for short term rentals only, normally less than 28 days. Airbnb charges the full payment when a booking is confirmed to secure the reservation. This occurs as soon as the host accepts the request or via Instant Book. Payments are made through the Airbnb platform, not directly to hosts. Hosts do not receive funds until 24 hours after check-in. The payment is out of the way so you can enjoy your stay.

We are shut down for a month to work on our property and enjoy some down time with family. We have been very busy and our calendar for June and July are almost totally booked...so we need to re-charge our batteries to ensure our upcoming guests enjoy their stay with us. See you all soon!

Time after being open for 2 1/2 years to switch out the dining table and chairs. My sister was kind enough to give them to me, but I have found that my guest...with all good intentions...tend to stain the cushions...I have replaced it twice. What do you think of the sleek new look?
