If you've been meaning to see the Adams River sockeye, this is the year to do it and it begins today.

Dominant runs happen once every four years, and the last one was in 2022.
The The Adams River Salmon Society Salute to the Sockeye Festival is on from October 9 to 25. Plan for an early start since gates open at 8:30am, and wear layers for a cool riverside day in October.

We're getting ready to welcome the Big League Experience Best of the West Turkey Classic teams staying with us this Thanksgiving weekend. Thank you for choosing Best Western Plus Kamloops as your home base, and good luck on the field.

To everyone else spending this Thanksgiving long weekend with us in Kamloops, there's baseball happening around town. Teams from across BC and Alberta are playing four days of games in the 18U, 15U, 13U and 11U divisions, and the schedules are posted on the Big League Experience tournament page.

Orange Shirt Day began here, in this province, because of what happened to children who deserved protection and got none. Wearing orange today is one way to honour them. Sitting with the history is another.

A 1km or 5km walk or run, this is Canada's largest single-day volunteer-led breast cancer fundraiser.

Sunday, October 4. Riverside Park at 8:45 AM: T-shirt Pickup Opens/Event Opens
If you're driving in for the event, checking in Saturday night means you're walking to the start line rested, not racing the clock from the highway.

If you're looking for a great local outing during your stay, head out to the final Privato Market of the season on Sunday, September 27th.

Located just a short drive from our doors at Privato Vineyard & Winery, this relaxed open air market brings together local craft vendors, live music, and tastings of their signature wines and Woodward ciders right among the vines.

Hours: 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Many restaurants downtown start closing up by 9 or 10. Carlos O'Bryan's does the opposite.
Their late-night happy hour keeps going until close (12-1 am depending on the day), and the two dishes locals order together are the Pachos and Chicken Lips.
Pachos have been on their menu since the first O'Bryan's opened in Kelowna back in 1987, lattice cut fries, under melted cheese and their house seasoning. 🤤 Locals usually order them alongside Chicken Lips, crispy fried chicken breast with honey mustard.

Both sit under $15 during happy hour, running from 9pm - close.
Carlos is less than 10-minute drive from our location here in lower Sahali, if your night is just getting started at 8.
