Tourism isn’t a “nice-to-have” it’s the backbone of Kelowna’s economy. Local business owners, restauranteurs, and tourism operators cannot afford another summer season without visitor spending.
Kelowna has done its part. They’ve exceeded housing targets and delivered on provincial priorities. Now, they are asking the Province to make an easy timeline change to let tourism thrive again.
The Province has a clear opportunity to step up and support Kelowna’s request for an early exemption to the principal residence opt-out before another summer slips away.
Now’s the time to act. Jobs are on the line and small businesses are counting on the return of critical short-term rentals to save the summer season and keep their doors open.
