🌲 New Forestry Mapping Deliverable: Canopy Height Maps

We’ve just added a refined Canopy Height Mapping product to our aerial data services.

Using high-resolution drone imagery and photogrammetry, we can now produce detailed canopy height models (CHM) that show the height of vegetation across an entire property. The result is a clear visual map that highlights differences in tree height and stand structure.

These maps can be useful for:

• Forestry planning and stand assessment
• Identifying growth patterns or uneven canopy areas
• Visualizing forest structure across large properties
• Supporting land management decisions

The example attached shows a colour-coded canopy height map, where different colours represent different vegetation heights across the surveyed area.

If you manage woodland, are planning forestry work, or simply want a better understanding of the structure of your land, this type of mapping can provide insights that aren’t visible from the ground.

We spent an absolutely gorgeous fall afternoon doing a drone shoot of a property along the medway river. Despite dry conditions the stream that borders the property is still visible and we were able to follow it using an FPV drone.
