Our new tribe of bees!

We finally found a perfect horse for Mike. This is Eddie. He is a draft cross and has the sweetest temperament I’ve ever met. We are so grateful to have him in our lives. He truly is heaven picked for Mike. We love him.

The backstory of why it too so long to get Eddie.

Several years ago we bought what we thought was Mike’s retirement horse at the Top Gun auction. Top Gun Auction at the time (hopefully they’ve improved their horse owner terms since) didn’t ensure owners were offering healthy horses in their auction.

Duchess, our new horse had advanced case of heaves and arthritis.

We had saved up for years to buy her. The auction owner and the previous horse owner denied any knowledge of these conditions and would not take accountability for the misrepresentation.

We learned as many do the ‘ol ‘buyer beware’ term that is known in the horse world. It’s a shameful trait. There are scoundrels in our midst. I guess being new to this community I was naïve to think everyone would take animal husbandry serious.

Lesson learned. Thank you for making me smarter you scoundrels.

It took us another 4 years to save up for Eddie. So a happy ending. You can knock us down but we will just get up again!
