Step inside the tower as it stands end of July!

The doors are in, the flooring is down, and the kitchen has arrived with its countertop and soft-close cabinets that feel better than they have any right to. The bathroom is coming together around the sink and shower, and everywhere you stand, the windows pull light into the space and make it feel bigger than the footprint says it should.

Up the ladder sits the crow’s nest, wrapped in glass on every side, with doors that will open onto the terrace. The ladder gets replaced, the terrace gets built, and the detail lighting around the structure is already in place.

We are showing you the build as it happens, because this is one of the towers you will be standing in before you know it!

The hardest part is not the design. It is the delivery.

Saying you will build something and actually putting it on someone’s land are two different jobs. Sourcing. Engineering. Making sure the Douglas fir going into these towers is the best we can get, not the easiest to order.

That is where the focus is. On getting these towers delivered to the people waiting on them.

And now that we have the factory, you get to see it happen. We will be sharing more about the production process in the coming days!

It started with a hike up the Dorset fire tower in Muskoka.

Standing at the top of that thing, looking out over the lakes and the treeline with everything laid out below, the thought was simple. Someone should be able to stay up here. Not visit for ten minutes and climb back down. Actually wake up to this.

That was a few years ago. What was a view from a viewing platform became a sketch, then a design, then a prototype, and now a real tower you can book.

Same feeling. Same height. Just with a bed, a kitchen and a door you can close behind you.

We have a factory.🏗️

You have seen a lot of the prototype. This is the next step. A full production building with the space to build multiple towers at once, a crane, and everything we need to run it properly.

The signature model base frame is going up in there right now. The timber for the next ones is already on the floor waiting. Big logs, serious quality.

We get this question a lot and honestly: Fair.

Plenty of so called “luxury” stays out there hand you a compost toilet and call it an experience.

So, clearly: there is a real bathroom in the unit. Sink, shower (and outdoor shower), running water. Built in from the start, not bolted on after.

We take the word “luxury” for what it used to mean, not what some other stays turned it into.

Fire lookout towers were never built for comfort, but…

They were built for one job. A person alone above the treeline, scanning the horizon for smoke, weeks at a time in a room barely big enough for a bed and a stove. The view was a work requirement, not a luxury.

Most of those towers are gone now. But the idea of them never left. Being that high above everything, seeing that far in every direction, having the whole landscape to yourself. That is the feeling we are building on.

We built the version you actually want to sleep in. The view stays. The hardship goes.
