Straw...berries! Lake House garden is planted and growing. Arugula to zucchini. First crops chives and rhubarb. Waiting another year for asparagus.

There's a very narrow threshold for 'Champagne Ice'. It's that last gasp before the ice disappears on the lake where, although 3 or 4 inches thick, it's honeycombed and shatters as the boat crashes through - it's sublime, sounds like stomping on champagne glasses! Devil Lake tradition is to bag the crystalline ice and save for Friday night martinis through the summer. Hoorah!

A very special night, full moon and eclipse... although we slept through most of the 3 am red climax, the snow reflected brightness streamed into the Teak bedroom!
