Metepenagiag Lodge

The lodge has been welcoming guests since 2003 when it first opened its doors. The Lodge uses both its Mi’kmaq name, “Metepenagiag Lodge” and its english name, “Red Bank Lodge”. Our story began when the Metepenagiag Band, had the opportunity to build a 10 bedroom lodge as an economic generator for the community. The business is owned by the Band but is directed by a board of directors and the General Manager. Most staff are from the Red Bank First Nation community who get the opportunity to greet guest from all over the world and to share their indigenous culture with them. The Lodge is located along the high banks of the little sou’west Miramchi River, with walking trails that lead you to the incredible cultural center, Metepenagiag Heritage Park, just 0.5km away. Some guests like to take advantage of the great fishing pools located just below the Lodge or explore the surroundings with wildlife viewing of birds, turtles and sometimes the occasional larger forest animals.
