Perched at the edge of our property, these bright yellow Adirondack chairs offer front-row seats to one of Newfoundland's greatest shows—the Atlantic Ocean. Start your day with coffee and the sound of the waves, watch seabirds glide overhead, or settle in for a spectacular sunset as the sea stretches endlessly before you.

This spot is even more special because it was built with love. A huge thank you to my dad, who built this little viewing deck and hauled these bright yellow chairs into place so our guests could experience the beauty of this coastline in the best way possible. Every time someone sits here and takes in the view, they're enjoying something he created with his own hands.

THE CAPELIN ARE ROLLING!

If you’re in the area, there’s a couple of great beaches to catch the excitement: The end of Doyle’s road, holyrood and topsail beaches!

The capelin roll is a spectacular natural phenomenon where millions of small, silver capelin fish swarm shallow waters and "roll" onto beaches to spawn.

This annual summer event happens on the shores of Newfoundland and Labrador, creating a massive community tradition and attracting feeding whales and seabirds. The Natural Spectacle.

The exact timing of the capelin roll varies depending on water temperatures and ocean conditions, typically occurring between mid-June and August. When the roll begins, it becomes a major event for coastal communities and tourists who flock to local beaches to observe, take photos, and scoop up the fish.

The capelin bring a feeding frenzy to the coastline, drawing in thousands of seabirds (like puffins) and humpback whales.

Freshly caught capelin are a traditional delicacy and are commonly consumed fried, dried, or salted.
