Last week, our family stayed at a different vacation rental. It was super average, but the price tag wasn’t… and honestly, it just reminded us why we built Lakers Lookout the way we did.
We didn’t buy the “vacation rental furniture package” as standard practice in a resort town.
The funny thing is, we could’ve done just that and our rental would be just as successful and our bottom line would be better. But, it doesn’t align with our values.
Every piece of furniture was handpicked. Every room was thoughtfully designed. Every detail was intentional. Every bed tested..
The kitchen isn’t stocked with bare bone appliances from 1992. It’s stocked the way we’d want it if we were the guests, right down to a SodaStream in case you forgot your club soda.
We didn’t have to furnish the patio with high-quality all-weather wicker furniture. We didn’t have to include TELUS TV so you don’t miss the big game. We didn’t have to obsess over comfort, cleanliness, or all the little extras - but we wanted to.
Because our goal was never to create just another rental suite. It was to create a place that feels like home, without ever feeling like you’re “making do.”
Our rental is priced alongside every other comparable three-bedroom condo in Sun Peaks, but we believe the experience is entirely different.
As our grandpa always said, “If you’re going to do something, do it right.” And our many 5⭐️ reviews suggest our guests agree.
