So when are we gonna change this? We need a slot size.
For my guests I implement a rough slot in what we keep. I have reached out to the resource managers many times and have encouraged others to do so but they don’t seem interested in changing anything. A slot size would protect growing fish, and protect large trophy quality fish. I am certain with a slight tweak in the regs sylvan would produce 30” walleye. Harvest should remain one a day, especially with the pressure on the lake but with a slot of say 40-53cm we would have ample harvest opportunities and be able to manage the population and have the opportunity to catch large trophy fish! Would you be willing to call or send an email in your support? We can have our cake and eat it too!

Planning a fishing trip this summer?

Yesterday afternoon these boys had an awesome time! 5 and 8 years old, Netting each others fish and putting em’ in the boat! The little guy landed a 24 incher! 23 fish in the boat between walleye and whites, I think dad had a good time too! This is what it’s all about!

This was an odd finish to yesterday’s trip, some commercial installers had their dock get away on them in the wind. They came rushing over as I pulled into the dock asking if I could get them out there and maybe pull it back to shore. We managed to rig a set up that worked and cruised back up to where it was needed. The thrust from the engine didn’t turn the boat well with the dock in tow. So I used my trolling motor to steer from the bow. Worked perfectly. So add dock moving to my resume I guess? 😅
