The Johnny Bower Foundation and Camp Bickell Inc. have teamed up to present the
“2025 POKECHECK FOR A CAUSE” raffle
Johnny Bower, the legendary Maple leaf goaltender, starred for the Leafs from 1959 to 1970, where he backstopped the Leafs to 4 Stanley Cups. He was voted one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players of all time and also is the only 3-time recipient of the prestigious J.P. Bickell Memorial Award.
After his passing in December 2017, the Johnny Bower foundation was created by the family to continue his philanthropic legacy.
J.P. Bickell, who at the time was the president of the McIntyre-Porcupine mine was a businessman, philanthropist and sports team owner. Jack Bickell is best known for his long-time association with the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Club, as an owner, president, chairman and director from 1924 to 1951.
Camp Bickell which is located near Iroquois Falls, Ontario was established in 1939 to provide a camp for youth.
