It’s truly hard to believe that another wedding season has come and gone. Another beautiful season of love 🥹

It never misses me what an honour and privilege it is to be part of so many incredible celebrations. 6 years and over 120 weddings later, I still get butterflies every time I welcome a new couple to my calendar 🦋

Next year is looking absolutely amazing and I’m so happy to be returning to many favourite venues and lots of new ones too. I still have space for a few more before I’m fully booked 🤍

Wedding season being over doesn’t mean the work stops. It’s a time for creative reflection, growth, education, upgrades, blogging and the less exciting tasks that take a back seat during busy season.

I’m still here, moving a little slower, dreaming & connecting with so many lovely couples planning their weddings and elopements.

This season is also special, just in a different way 🫶

Oh hey 👋 it’s me🤭

I wanted to share this self portrait session for a few reasons. To start, pregnancy is an all encompassing experience. It’s a blessing, it’s a challenge and it’s so many things that are hard to put into words.

As someone who is wildly independent, being vulnerable doesn’t come easy. I’m very used to being constantly in motion and I really didn’t slow down too much in this season of life. I did learn to let a few things go.. like the weeds in my garden 🫣 and constantly having all of my to dos checked off. I focused on family and work above all these past 9 months.

Most importantly, I wanted to mention how relatable this photo experience is. I feel the same way you do about preparing for a session. Is now a good time? What will I wear? How will I feel about myself in the photos?

I can PROMISE you- it’s worth it. You have to jump in with both feet, whole heartedly. This session really made me feel alive. Life is so busy, and even when I pause- it doesn’t really feel like a pause. There’s something about stopping time to make memories that really makes you think about your current moment in time and how significant it is. You will never be exactly where you are now. Time doesn’t slow for anything. This is the way to preserve it.

After, I felt content, confident and self assured. I recognized I can be more than one thing. I saw that I can recognize myself as a mom, a woman, a wife, a photographer, a friend and every other version of myself.

These sessions also make me a better artist. Switching sides to be the one in front of the camera. What feels good? What looks best? It’s enlightening.

I’m very used to being the one taking the photos but this is an experience on another level. It makes me feel…

Sometimes you just have to embrace the damp, gloomy days and just go for it ✨

Of course we all love golden hour and fluffy clouds but this time of the year- you never know what you’ll get! One day it’s blue skies and t-shirt weather and the next it’s rain, 10 degrees and you’re wondering if the sun even came up.

Well these two choose to celebrate + document their engagement despite the weather and I’m so glad they did! These are totally giving PNW life 🤍

I cannot wait to capture the wedding of this absolutely lovely couple next year.

Romantic and timeless Fall engagement session

Having been in the wedding industry for 6 years now, there’s a lot I see that’s often not communicated to clients 😳

1. Who they’re for. Is every photographer for everyone? Nope. We all have things that set us apart, make us stand out, unique style and types of photography we cater to. It should be obvious viewing their socials and websites what their forte looks like. If it’s not, they should be able to tell you clearly why they are ideal for you.

2. Advice on what to wear for your session. This makes the BIGGEST difference. Notice how you don’t see bold/ neon clothing in my photos? Wild patterns, shirts with big logos, formal or athletic wear where it doesn’t belong? That’s because each of my clients who books a session receives a copy of my wardrobe guide which has pages of examples, complimentary colours, what to wear and what not to wear for your most beautiful and flattering photos.

3. What to expect. This may be one of the biggest ones. Do you get sneak peeks? Can you recommend a professional printer? How do we get in touch? What does working with you look like?

4. When it comes to weddings: you can do whatever you want. Of course, this is going to affect what your gallery looks like. Join cocktail hour, skip first dances, take photos at golden hour, invite everyone or hardly anyone. Break traditions or include them all. The choice is yours. There’s no “right” way to do it. An experienced photographer should be able to advise you on your timeline to ensure everything you want is captured without feeling rushed.

5. How they care for your files. How long will you have access to your gallery online? How can you download, print and share them? How are photos stored? How long are they kept? All super important.

So when you’re choosing your photographer, make sure they can answer these questions or have already made them clear to you. Photography is an investment and you should get the most out of it 🤍
