Bali’s architecture is a blend between nature and craftsmanship—where tropical modernism meets ancient tradition, and every space is designed to evoke serenity, balance, and a deep connection to the land.

The design philosophy blends traditional Balinese architecture, rich in carved stone and intricate temples, with tropical modernism, which emphasizes natural materials, open spaces, and seamless indoor-outdoor living. The island is a masterclass in harmony with nature, from jungle-framed villas to breezy, wood-clad interiors that invite the lush surroundings inside.

One of my favourite architects — Frank Lloyd Wright. (Taliesin West) 🫶 I’ve always felt a perfect mix of warmth, nostalgia, and modern sophistication—like stepping into a space that feels both grounding and aspirational. His homes aren’t just structures; they’re experiences.

Taliesin West is one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most iconic works, serving as his winter home, studio, and architectural school in Arizona. Built in 1937, it embodies Wright’s philosophy of organic architecture—where buildings harmonize with their natural surroundings.

The structure blends desert masonry (rocks and sand from the area) with geometric lines, deep overhangs, and low-slung roofs that seem to emerge from the Sonoran Desert itself. The use of natural materials and dramatic angles creates a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. Wright personally oversaw construction and constantly made changes, treating Taliesin West as a living architectural experiment.

Today, it’s the headquarters for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and a UNESCO World Heritage site. If you ever visit, the atmosphere is a mix of tranquil desert beauty and architectural genius.
