HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND REMEMBERING THE GREATEST MUSIC ENGINEER OF ALL TIME .... THE GOAT OF MUSIC ENGINEERING AND MUSIC LEGEND ... TOM DOWD. Tom engineered and recorded albums for and with many artists including Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Oak Arkansas, Derek and the Dominos, Rod Stewart, Wishbone Ash, New Model Army, Cream, Lulu, Chicago, the Allman Brothers Band, Joe Bonamassa, the J. Geils Band, Meat Loaf, Sonny & Cher, the Rascals, The Spinners, Willie Nelson, Diana Ross, Eagles, the Four Seasons, Kenny Loggins, James Gang, Dusty Springfield, Eddie Harris, Charles Mingus, Herbie Mann, Booker T. & the M.G.’s, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Joe Castro and Primal Scream. Dowd received a Grammy Trustees Award for his lifetime achievements in February 2002. Tom made MUSIC engineering and gave it the many tools used today including the sliders on sound boards as so much more. RIP AND YOU WERE AND ARE STILL THE BEST TOM !!!

Introduced in 1980, our Fostex T20RP headphones quickly became the de facto standard in studios across America and remain very popular today, almost 40 years later!

Recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami in 1981, Andy Gibb and Victoria Principal released the song "All I Have To Do Is Dream" as a single and it was the last single by Gibb. The song was the only single by Victoria Principal and was modest pop-chart hit that peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 12, 1981.

RWO/Fostex LS/3 Laboratory Series studio monitors at the JVC Cutting Center in Los Angeles in 1981. This facility was considered to be amongst the best, famous for the vinyl disks they mastered.

The disk mastering engineers had to fight their parent company, JVC Japan, in order to purchase and install our RWO/Fostex monitors instead of JVC's own product!
