✨🌄 Wandering Among the Willow Creek Hoodoos 🌄✨

There’s something magical about standing in front of nature’s sculptures, shaped not by human hands but by time, wind, and rain. Today I found myself at the Willow Creek Hoodoos in Drumheller, Alberta, and honestly—it felt like stepping into another world.

As I walked through the valley, these towering sandstone pillars stood quietly, carrying thousands of years of history in their layers. Each one seemed to whisper stories of ancient landscapes, shifting rivers, and the power of nature’s patience.

What I loved most wasn’t just how breathtaking they looked, but the way the entire area made me slow down. The silence was deep, only broken by the soft crunch of gravel under my shoes and the breeze brushing past the rock formations.

On the practical side—there’s plenty of parking space, and the fee is less than $5, which feels like a small price to pay for such a unique experience. They’ve also placed mobile toilets nearby, making the visit comfortable even if you’re planning to stay a while and soak in the views.

Drumheller is often called the “Dinosaur Valley,” but for me, these hoodoos are proof that the land itself is alive with memory. If you ever find yourself in Alberta, don’t just pass by—come here, stand still, and let the hoodoos remind you how small we are, and how beautiful that can be. 🌍❤️

Just had the most incredible experience camping under the Northern Lights at Paint Lake Provincial Park near Thompson! 🌌✨ The Aurora Borealis lit up the sky, making it a truly magical night.

Paint Lake is primarily an RV park, but you can definitely camp in a tent too. For a more comfortable stay, I highly recommend booking an electric site and bringing a portable heater, especially since temperatures can drop to single digits in the early mornings. Also, using a tarp to cover your tent helps keep the rain off the rain fly.

The park is in northern Manitoba, so pack both summer and fall clothes to be prepared for the changing weather. While you're in the area, don't miss a visit to Thompson, just 30 km away. On your way to or from Paint Lake, be sure to check out Pisew Falls and Little Limestone Lake—they’re both stunning spots!

This was a once-in-a-lifetime camping experience that I’ll never forget. If you get the chance, don’t miss it!
