That jagged silhouette on the horizon is Es Vedrà — the mythic rocky islet just off Ibiza, near Cala d’Hort. We caught it from the water between Ibiza and Formentera, and this was actually where we watched the full eclipse. I saw everything from the boat with my glasses but didn’t have the right camera to photograph it, so I’m showing the progression here instead — from 0% coverage to 💯, when it went dark, then light again. Also posting what it looked like through the glasses. There’s something fitting about it — this rock has centuries of legend attached to it, sirens and magnetic energy and all, so watching the sky go dark right in front of it felt like the right place to be.

I have so much to share about Azores. Four islands, one impossible favorite. Cows grazing above cliffs that drop straight into the Atlantic. Volcanic rock fields turning to black sand. Hydrangeas lining every road like they were planted on purpose, and white ginger lily growing twenty feet tall along others — an entire mountainside gone wild with it. Wild horses standing in the fog like they’d been waiting there for centuries. Simple, incredible food that tastes like the island it came from. The Azores don’t try to impress you — they just quietly are. Hard to pick one photo when every single day looked like this. 🌺🐴🌊
