An end of year update sees MDO complete a great range of projects. Highlights include Jian li Ju Theatre which won best performance space at Residence magazine's 100 Best Awards, nominated for WAF Inside Award, and shortlisted for the upcoming Frame 2018 awards. We have also completed a number of projects from Vanke in Hangzhou including a concept sales centre at Tianma and the Mountain Villa sales centre and show suites in Liangzhu.

Its been a busy few months at MDO. We moved office, and have recently completed 3 projects for Vanke in Hangzhou and Chengdu. The team have been busy developing the designs for a special project in Muscat, and recently Justin and Jaycee meet with Sou Fujimoto to discuss a new boutique hotel in Tonglu. More soon!

We have been away from facebook for a while, super busy finishing lots of exciting projects. We are also putting the finishing touches on our brand new office. Meanwhile here are a few photos from a recent visit to our project for mtm in Chengdu.

MDO's folding apartment in Fumin Lu, Shanghai. The 2 things we value most in our home: space and privacy. But with house prices in Shanghai the same as in London, its not possible to buy a large apartment in a good central location.

In Fumin Lu MDO approached this problem in a 50sqm refurbishment by arranging the living spaces from public to private and then folding them round a central spine wall. We managed to achieve an open plan living space, whilst still maintaining a sense of privacy. The spaces are subdivided by folding doors in translucent glass, which helps to bring light through the apartment.

Recent MDO site visit to Xi'An for mock-up inspection of Phase 2. The weather was great so we took some pictures of Phase 1. In the background you can see the towers of Phase 2 rising from the new central park.
