2023 was a good year on the Tijereta out of Los Suenos Marina Resort especially the sea mount trip, we caught 762 sails, 591 blue marlin, 19 stripe marlin and 3 black marlin, I want to thank all our clients that participated and hope you come back again to try your hand at hooking more in 24, also a big thank to my crew that do most of the work and the carpenters, painters, mechanics that keep us out there, a huge thanks to Viviana for running the show while I drive the bus, couldn’t do it without her, book now while there are some open days.

Haven’t posted in awhile, just needed to brag on the fishing in Costa Rica, we just got back from fishing a four day seamount trip out of Los Sueños Marina Resort. We released 30 blue marlin out of 42, we released 4 out of five Stripe Marlin and 14 out of 18 sailfish , slammed out all four days, did I mention it was slick calm. Mike Stewart, his wife Candy and Viviana were the anglers. Also, Mike had just done his last round of chemotherapy two days prior to the trip, he was determined to go fishing. The sailfish season has also started out well, almost every boat getting 10 plus bites a day and few marlin mixed in… All the big dolphin you can shake a stick at, we have a few days open contact us and come try your luck.

The seamounts in Costa Rica are a gift that keeps on giving, we had another good trip out of Los Suenos marina, we raised 40 the first day had 38 bites, the anglers were a little rusty, they haven’t fished since before the pandemic only caught 23 we raised 59 in three day trip had 54 bites catch 34, and had beautiful weather, all pitch bait all thirty pound tackle, a shout out to the mates on the Tijereta for Doing an awesome job the season, and we still have another month

Dr Michael Burleson and his life long friend Danny had a Dream Seamount trip on the Tijereta out of Los Suenos Marina resort, during a four day trip we found a log about 10:00 Am the first day and stayed with it all four days, we raised 99 had 77 bites catch 59 Blue Marlin it was nice and calm and got to share it a couple days with the Old Reliable and it was amazing to see how polished that team is with a fly rod, definitely a trip to remember, we even named the log castaway

The seamounts off Los Suenos Costa Rica are showing off again for the Lamson Family, Mike better known as Cappy his son Mike and grandson 10 year old Teagan have some great memories to take home, they caught 35 marlin on a three day trip, Teagan caught 10 blue marlin 1 stripe marlin 1 sail and a 60 pound dorado, there was a father son double hitter marlin two grandfather grandson double hitter marlin and Mike Jr catch his first sailfish also.

Well 2021 comes to an end , we fished one more fad trip, just two days in Mid December and it didn’t disappoint, we raised 25 had 22 bites and caught 17 blue marlin, we also did a lot of updates to the boat in November to insure the boat runs good in 2022 one of the new electronics we added was a new sonar to keep up with the times and make us better fisherman, fishing against the other boats with them showed me they made a big difference to compare it to something it was like Qual hunting with out a dog well now we have a dog, looking forward to the new season and learning how to use this new peace of equipment, Merry Christmas and happy new year from the Tijereta crew, come fishing with us

David Mays and friend Lee, fished with us the last three days, we raised 48 had 36 bites catch 25 , they did pretty good considering it was Lee’s first time pitch baiting blue marlin, this was our last trip till November, the boat and I are getting some much needed maintenance, we fished 62 seamount trips this season caught 422 blue marlin and 12 stripe marlin, it’s been a good seamount season, I would like to thank all the people who booked us an gave us the opportunity to enjoy this incredible fishery.

Dr. Burleson has been fishing the seamounts with us for over five years, he usually comes with one of his sons Ryan or Michael but this trip he came by himself, and had a good trip his hooking percentage was excellent, we raised 60 had 48 bites and caught 40 out of that 35 were blue marlin 3 stripe marlin and 2 sails all by himself. it did include one grand slam, that was over 4 days of fishing all 30 pound pitch baiting. Mike Stwart and his wife Candy are a fishing team, he hooks them and she reels them in and there pretty good at it, they fished a three day seamount trip with us, first day was a little tough, raised 8 had 6 bites and only caught 2 but in his defense there was two broken hooks, second day he was on fire, raised 15 had 10 bites catch 9 third day we raised 8 had 6 bites catch five. Tony and his Nebraska walleye fisherman came to try there hand at blue marlin fishing on the seamounts in Costa Rica for 3 days and they faired pretty good, raised 44 had 31 bites catch 21 , catch 12 the first day.
