🌙 When the sun goes down, the forest of Mashpi reveals a completely different world. Under ultraviolet light, this harvestman—or opilio—shows a surprising glow, transforming an already fascinating arachnid into something almost otherworldly.
Harvestmen are not spiders, although they belong to the same group: arachnids. They can be found crawling through leaf litter, vegetation, and tree trunks, playing important roles in the forest ecosystem as predators, scavengers and decomposers. 🍃
