Just a question to IHG Global Headquarters and Europe Office
Is it a mistake to love & live for your profession?
I was working whether for the Semiramis laundry & drycleaning head of department or as a laundry specialist for "Diversey" international laundry chemical supplier in Egypt as I could have made lots of breakthroughs in this field as on one hand my laundry was the first who replaced the powder manual dosing of different laundry chemicals with the automatic computerised dosing system which since that time started to spread around in other hotels in Egypt & the Gulf area! I could develope the good ambitious calibers of my employees in different laundry job categories and introduced them as managers for several hotels! Some of my colleagues in the field didn't do this & kept their job even after pensionary age While I'm helplessly looking for a job! With a brain that is overfull of technical information, I feel devastatingly desprate sitting at home foing nothing! My laptop are stuffed with many different translated presentations handling different sectional jobs of the laundry & valet immaculate guest services along with industrial safety procedures! Also I was conducting the necessary linen testings to ensure its liabilities to the company standards before purchasing bulks which along with the appropriate washing chemicals use contributed in linen longer life span thus my expertise helped my hotel save money by getting the linen best quality & of dyestuff that could be maintained during the different washing processes!

The bad selection of called reginonal managers, specially the one I know how he hates himself can cause a damage to the image of his company! Once during my business trips I heard about a failior experience of some one who was nominated by him to go to a sister hotel in the gulf area and made a lousey poor job! While my dear scotch talented friend who knows whom to get addvices seeked my help by mails and solved most of the problems!

Mr. Gaby is The Man who dedicatedly & professionally spent all his life immaculately working in a tough & complicated job as Material Director of our mega hotel!
A friend who constructively & supportively afforded the entire house departments with different materials needed either on daily, monthly or even yearly basis. As a person he gave & still represents an example for how the leader should be.
Mr. Gaby, being of high persistency & on constant alert, He could fairly help prove the honesty of our Executive Chef Engineer & me to survive some strained situations. Such man has always been respected & loved by all Semiramis Personnel throughout the long years & still. We’ve been always lucky to have him among.
I’m grateful for working with such phenomenal personality

What does it take to be a good manager?
In my field of expertise, I have to deal with people of different social backgrounds & mostly uneducated persons!
God knows the amount of oppressions they have been exposed to in their early childhood whether at home or in the private shops they got their first experiences and which led into the mature persons in front of you with various moods of anger, self-empathy and stubbornness!
You have to deal with such psychological distortions & overcome them into building trust between them and you!
Not easy? yes, maybe in the start but with persistence and insistence you'll eventually get it!
This is the beauty of it, maybe it's even the beauty of any victory lies behind its difficulty not its easiness!
