One of the reasons we chose Álora was everything around it.

Málaga when you want a day in the city. The white villages and mountains when you want to explore. El Chorro and Caminito del Rey in the other direction.

And then you come back here.

Away from the busy coast, with the valley in front of you, your own pool and nowhere you need to be for the rest of the evening.

Casa Lux is around 35 minutes from Málaga Airport, but it feels like a very different world. 💛

A morning at Casa Lux can be as complicated as this:

Coffee under the covered terrace.

A few more pages in the hanging chair.

A swim before anyone has decided what to do for lunch.

And perhaps that is enough of a plan for the day.

So much of Casa Lux was created around being outside, with places for sun, shade, swimming, eating and doing absolutely nothing at all. 💛

We thought the renovation would take three months.

It took almost three years.

One of the changes that transformed Casa Lux most was opening up almost three metres of wall between the house and the terrace. Suddenly the view became part of the room, and the way we used the whole house changed with it.

Now, when the doors are open, breakfast moves outside, people drift between the sofa and the terrace, and the mountains are there from almost everywhere you look.

Some of our favourite parts of Casa Lux are the ones that took the longest to get right. 💛

Perhaps the friends you’ve been meaning to plan a trip with. The children for a week of swimming and exploring. Or just the two of you, with time for long lunches and a few days out in Andalucía.

Casa Lux is open for bookings from May to October 2027. Our home near Álora has two king bedrooms, a 57 m² private pool and terraces overlooking the valley and mountains. Everything is exclusively yours during your stay.

When we renovated Casa Lux, we wanted the inside to feel as inviting as the terraces.

Light rooms, wood and marble, a generous sofa to settle into, and doors that open straight outside. Somewhere you can make breakfast in your own time and feel at home for the week.

There are two bedrooms with king-size beds, with additional sleeping arrangements for children. The house accommodates up to 4 adults and 2 children under 12.

This is one of our favourite moments at Casa Lux. The house lights come on, the mountains turn pink, and there’s still time for a swim before dinner.

September and October are lovely months to spend here. Breakfast outside, a day exploring Andalucía, then back to your own pool and an evening on the terrace.
