Fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Carmen 27th July until 9th August 2026.
One week today we'll see the official start of an annual event in the old town of Puerto del Carmen. It's a major fiesta, centred around the old town harbour so for anyone here at the end of July, the traditional Fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Carmen this year takes place from Monday 27th July until Sunday 9th August. There are various events, concerts and a fair in the harbour over the 2 week period.
It is to honor the patron saint of Fishermen. The celebration includes a maritime procession of the Virgin Mary, taken from the church in the old town harbour, to the sea and then carried on a decorated boat accompanied by a flatilla of small boats, from the harbour, symbolizing her protection over seafarers.
It also includes a procession of the statue along the oldest street, Calle Teide on the last Sunday of the event, taken from the church along the street and back.
The fiesta finishes on Sunday 9th August with a firework display over the harbour at 11pm
Please be aware it can cause some disruption with parking in and around the old town during the period, especially over the weekends and in particular the last weekend of the events.
It's a great cultural event and the harbour is buzzing, especially with the fair and also at the weekends with the late night concerts.
