🇬🇧 From Chicago to the Camino Lebaniego: a father and son walking towards the Cross.
They have travelled from the United States specifically to walk the Camino Lebaniego together and venerate the Lignum Crucis at Santo Toribio de Liébana. Afterwards, they will head back home.
The father, originally from Poland, fell in love with Spain while walking the Camino Francés in 2023. Now he is sharing this journey of faith with his son, who was born in the US.
💬 “Walking the Camino is to meditate, to pray with your legs, and to see God’s creation all around you.”
They are walking it in four stages, although they recommend allowing five days to enjoy it without rushing. Their advice: research the route, bring a map and take it easy.
And one detail has stayed with them:
💬 “Here, you don’t follow the arrow: you follow the cross.”
Thank you for sharing your journey with us at Albergue de Cabañes. Buen Camino to Santo Toribio! 💚
