Ken je Cabo de Gata? Een natuurgebied vlakbij Penthouse Fatu Hiva. Je kunt er zowel over de snelweg A7 als langs de kust (via Garrucha, Mojarcar en Carboneras) naartoe rijden.
Het is een van de meest bijzondere natuurgebieden van Europa door de geologische samenstelling en het is het grootste beschermde kustgebied in Spanje. Het gebied is ontstaan uit vulkanisch gesteente en dank zijn naam aan Agaat, de steensoort die je hier veelvuldig kunt zien.

¿Conoces Cabo de Gata? Una reserva natural cerca de Penthouse Fatu Hiva. Se puede llegar en coche por la autovía A7 así como por la costa (vía Garrucha, Mojarcar y Carboneras).
Es uno de los espacios naturales más especiales de Europa por su composición geológica y es el mayor espacio costero protegido de España. El área fue creada a partir de roca volcánica y debe su nombre al ágata, el tipo de piedra que a menudo se puede ver aquí.

Do you know Cabo de Gata? A nature reserve near Penthouse Fatu Hiva. You can drive there via the A7 motorway as well as along the coast (via Garrucha, Mojarcar and Carboneras).
It is one of the most special natural areas in Europe due to its geological composition and it is the largest protected coastal area in Spain. The area was created from volcanic rock and owes its name to Agate, the type of stone that you can often see here.

Águilas is een stadje dat op minder dan een half uurtje van Penthouse Fatu Hiva ligt. De route er naartoe is prachtig, je kunt namelijk parallel aan de zee rijden.
Het stadje is typisch Spaans met gezellige pleintjes waar ook in de winter echt buiten geleefd wordt. Je kunt er ook leuk winkelen.
Langs de boulevard vind je restaurantjes en kroegen en je wandelt langs (jacht)havens.
Aan het einde van de haven vind je een verrassing! Een aquarium in en rondom een oude vissersboot. Dit is gratis toegankelijk en vertelt je dat we zuinig moeten zijn op de zee. Erg interessant en zeker een bezoekje waard!
De trappen door het hele stadscentrum zijn een feestje, loop je de trap af, dan zie je niets, maar draai eens om als je beneden bent...

Águilas es un pueblo a menos de media hora de Penthouse Fatu Hiva. La ruta hacia ella es hermosa, porque puedes conducir paralelo al mar.
El pueblo es típicamente español con acogedoras plazas donde la gente realmente vive al aire libre en el invierno. También puede disfrutar de las compras allí.
A lo largo del bulevar encontrará restaurantes y bares y podrá caminar por los puertos (marina).
¡Al final del puerto encontrarás una sorpresa! Un acuario dentro y alrededor de un viejo barco de pesca. Este es accesible de forma gratuita y te dice que hay que tener cuidado con el mar. ¡Muy interesante y definitivamente vale la pena una visita!
Las escaleras por todo el centro de la ciudad son una fiesta, bajas las escaleras, no ves nada, pero te das la vuelta cuando estás abajo...

Águilas is a town less than half an hour from Penthouse Fatu Hiva. The route to it is beautiful, because you can drive parallel to the sea.
The town is typically Spanish with cozy squares where people really live outside in the winter. You can also enjoy shopping there.
Along the boulevard you will find restaurants and bars and you can walk along (marina) harbours.
At the end of the harbor you will find a surprise! An aquarium in and around an old fishing boat. This is accessible for free and tells you that we have to be careful with the sea. Very interesting and definitely worth a visit!
The stairs throughout the city center are a party, you walk down the stairs, you don't see anything, but turn around when you're down...

Februari en maart zijn de maanden voor bloesem in Andalusië. Je ziet uitgestrekte paarse velden! Echt prachtig om te zien. Dit zijn de ideale maanden voor als je van een mooie rondrit in de omgeving houdt. Of hou je ervan om te wandelen? Ook dan ben je bij ons appartement aan het juiste adres.

Febrero y marzo son los meses de floración en Andalucía. ¡Ves vastos campos morados! Realmente hermoso de ver. Estos son los meses ideales si te gusta un buen recorrido por la zona. ¿O te gusta caminar? Incluso entonces ha venido al lugar correcto en nuestro apartamento.

February and March are the months for blossom in Andalusia. You see vast purple fields! Really beautiful to see. These are the ideal months if you like a nice tour in the area. Or do you like to walk? Even then our apartment is the right place for you.

Wil je ook in de winter wakker worden met dit uitzicht? Dat kan! Overwinteren in Spanje is al jaren populair en wij begrijpen wel waarom. Als het in noord Europa vriest, dan kun je hier al snel in de zon, met een jas aan, een boekje lezen of drankje doen.
Ons appartement heeft glasvezel WiFi, dus zelfs workation is goed mogelijk. NB. Dat is naar de zon gaan en van daaruit via internet werken. Helemaal hip!

Do you also want to wake up with this view in winter? That’s possible! Spending the winter in Spain has been popular for years and we understand why. When it freezes in northern Europe, you can soon be in the sun, with a coat on, reading a book or having a drink.
Our apartment has fiber optic WiFi, so even workation is possible. NB. That is going to the sun and working from there via the internet. Totally hip!

¿Tú también quieres despertarte con esta vista en invierno? que puede! Pasar el invierno en España ha sido popular durante años y entendemos por qué. Cuando se congela en el norte de Europa, pronto puede estar al sol, con un abrigo puesto, leyendo un libro o tomando una copa.
Nuestro apartamento tiene WiFi de fibra óptica, por lo que incluso es posible trabajar. NÓTESE BIEN. Eso es ir al sol y trabajar desde allí a través de Internet. ¡Totalmente moderno!

Het is hier nu heerlijk zonnig en het zonnetje heeft ook nog kracht, ideaal dus om lekker uit de wind van je winterwitte huid af te komen. Gisteren hebben we een prachtige strandwandeling gemaakt, een rondje van zo’n 7 km. Vanuit huis richting Puerto Rey. Het uitzicht is telkens anders.
Op de terugweg kom je langs allemaal barretjes waar je lekker wat kunt drinken. Bij elk drankje krijg je een tapa.

It is now wonderfully sunny here and the sun also has strength, ideal to get rid of your winter white skin. Yesterday we made a beautiful beach walk, a round of about 7 km. From home towards Puerto Rey. The view is always different and stunning.
On the way back you will pass some bars where you can enjoy a drink. With every drink you get a tapa.

Ahora hace un sol maravilloso aquí y el sol también tiene fuerza, ideal para quitarse la piel blanca de invierno del viento. Ayer hicimos un hermoso paseo por la playa, una vuelta de unos 7 km. Desde casa hacia Puerto Rey. La vista siempre es diferente.
A la vuelta pasarás por todos los chirinquitos donde podrás disfrutar de unas beber. Con cada bebida te llevas una tapa.

Op loopafstand van het appartement vind je echt iets bijzonders! Natuurgebied Salar de los Canos. Hier kun je iedere dag de mooiste flora en fauna bewonderen. Zelf zijn wij altijd erg onder de indruk van flamingo’s 🦩 en dat is een van de vele dieren die je hier ziet.
Je kunt een mooie wandeling maken langs de uitkijktorens, maar ook zo uit de auto stappen en de vogels zien, er is zelfs een goed aangelegd fietspad langs het gebied.
Zomer en winter, er is altijd iets te zien!

¡A poca distancia del apartamento encontrará algo realmente especial! Reserva natural del Salar de los Caños. Aquí se puede admirar la más bella flora y fauna todos los días. A nosotros mismos siempre nos impresionan mucho los flamencos 🦩 y ese es uno de los tantos animales que ves aquí.
Puedes dar un agradable paseo por las torres de vigilancia, pero también salir del coche y ver las aves, incluso hay un carril bici bien diseñado a lo largo de la zona.
Verano e invierno, ¡siempre hay algo que ver!

Within walking distance of the apartment you will find something really special! Salar de los Canos nature reserve. Here you can admire the most beautiful flora and fauna every day. We ourselves are always very impressed by flamingos 🦩 and that is one of the many animals you see here.
You can take a nice walk along the lookout towers, but also get out of the car and see the birds, there is even a well laid out cycle path along the area.
Summer and winter, there is always something to see!

Sportiviteit en dam
In de buurt kun je allerlei mooie wandelingen maken en sporten in en rond de zee. Maar wil je iets bijzonders doen? Ga dan naar Cuevas de Almanzora. Daar is namelijk een groot cable park en kun je o.a. leren wakeboarden! Vind je dat te spannend, dan is het ook te gek om er gewoon een uurtje te kijken.
Je hebt daar vandaan ook nog prachtig zicht op de enorme dam! Daarna kun je doorrijden en op de dam een mooie wandeling maken. Adembenemende uitzichten ook hier weer!

Sportsmanship and dam
In the neighborhood you can take all kinds of beautiful walks and sports in and around the sea. But do you want to do something special? Then go to Cuevas de Almanzora. There is a large cable park there and you can learn to wakeboard, among other things! If that's too exciting for you, it's also great to just watch it for an hour.
From there you also have a beautiful view of the huge dam! Then you can drive on and take a nice walk on the dam. Breathtaking views here again!

Deportividad y presa
En la zona se pueden realizar todo tipo de bonitos paseos y hacer deporte en el mar y sus alrededores. ¿Pero quieres hacer algo especial? Luego dirígete a Cuevas de Almanzora. Hay un gran parque de cables allí y puedes aprender a hacer wakeboard, ¡entre otras cosas! Si lo encuentra demasiado emocionante, entonces también es genial verlo solo durante una hora.
¡Desde allí también tienes una hermosa vista de la enorme presa! Luego puede conducir y dar un agradable paseo por la presa. Impresionantes vistas aquí de nuevo!

Mojacar
Vanaf het dakterras zie je in de verte een wit dorp op de berg liggen. Dit is Mojacar, een van de mooiste authentieke Spaanse dorpen. Er is iedere week een marktje, de uitzichten zijn fenomenaal en er zijn leuke winkeltjes en terrassen.
Bij een bezoek aan Vera Playa mag je dit dorp absoluut niet overslaan! Wist je trouwens dat hier het bekende poppetje van Andalusië vandaan komt? De Indalo is hier ooit gevonden en zie je dan ook in vele uitingen terug. Het schijnt geluk te brengen!

mojacar
From the roof terrace you can see a white village on the mountain in the distance. This is Mojacar, one of the most beautiful authentic Spanish villages. There is a market every week, the views are phenomenal and there are nice shops and terraces.
When visiting Vera Playa, you should definitely not miss this village! By the way, did you know that this is where the famous doll of Andalusia comes from? The Indalo was once found here and you can see it in many expressions. It seems to bring good luck!

mojácar
Desde la terraza de la azotea se puede ver un pueblo blanco en la montaña a lo lejos. Esto es Mojácar, uno de los pueblos españoles más bonitos y auténticos. Hay un mercado todas las semanas, las vistas son fenomenales y hay bonitas tiendas y terrazas.
Cuando visite Vera Playa, definitivamente no debe perderse este pueblo. Por cierto, ¿sabías que de aquí proviene la famosa muñeca de Andalucía? El Indalo se encontró una vez aquí y se puede ver en muchas expresiones. ¡Parece traer buena suerte!

Snorkelen
Wil je eens wat anders dan het strand voor de deur? Dan stap in de auto en kun je kiezen tussen de tientallen strandjes en baaitjes die vlak na Vilaricos te vinden zijn. Onze favorieten op dit moment zijn Cala Cristal en Cala del Peñon Cortao, maar er zijn er nog zo veel die we niet gezien hebben!
Je zit beschut, er is altijd ergens schaduw en je kunt er fantastisch snorkelen. Sommige strandjes hebben ook grotten, de ideale bestemming voor de avonturiers onder ons.

Snorkeling
Do you want something different than the beach at your doorstep? Then you get in the car and you can choose between the dozens of beaches and coves that can be found just after Vilaricos. Our favorites at the moment are Cala Cristal and Cala del Peñon Cortao, but there are still so many we haven't seen!
You are sheltered, there is always shade somewhere and you can snorkel fantastically. Some beaches also have caves, the ideal destination for the adventurous among us.

Bucear
¿Quieres algo diferente a la playa en la puerta de tu casa? Después te subes al coche y puedes elegir entre las decenas de playas y calas que se encuentran justo después de Vilaricos. Nuestras favoritas en este momento son Cala Cristal y Cala del Peñon Cortao, ¡pero todavía hay muchas que no hemos visto!
Estás protegido, siempre hay sombra en algún lugar y puedes bucear fantásticamente. Algunas playas también tienen cuevas, el destino ideal para los aventureros entre nosotros.
