Sometimes the best adventures are the simplest ones ✨

Today we explored the beautiful trail right next to Arctic Nest — walking through quiet spruce forests, open wetlands, and all the way to a traditional hut hidden in nature.

The kids laughed, explored, climbed, and played for hours. No screens, no toys, no plans needed. Just fresh air, nature, and time together.

This is what we love most about life in Arctic Lakeland — nature is always just outside the door 🤍

This building once had a very different purpose.

Originally, it served as Finland’s national natural sample bank — a place where natural samples from all around the country were preserved and stored. It was built here because of the exceptionally clean air, silence and pure nature surrounding it.

Today, the same building welcomes guests from around the world to slow down and experience this unique part of Finland.
The transformation didn’t happen overnight.

There were endless renovation days, unexpected problems, stress, learning, excitement and countless hours of work behind these walls.

Sometimes we still look at the old photos and can hardly believe it is the same place.

And honestly — this is still only the beginning. 🤍

Last weekend we welcomed travel agencies to Arctic Nest ❄️
We shared our place, our story, and what Arctic Nest is truly about.
From visiting a reindeer farm in the heart of the North 🦌
to frozen waterfalls and untouched winter nature.
We baked blueberry pie together 🫐 (with lots of laughter),
learned how to make fire without matches,
snowshoed through silent forests,
and enjoyed good food, good company, and shared moments.
