October mornings at Lake Oulujärvi are something special.

Some mornings, all you need is a cup of coffee and a beautiful view.

I get my morning coffee, curl up on the sofa and look out over Lake Oulujärvi. The sky is slowly turning pink and the colours are reflected on the still water.

These are the mornings that remind me how lucky we are to live surrounded by such beautiful nature. And no matter how many times I see it, it never gets old.

For me, autumn has always been a time to slow down.

As the evenings grow darker, it feels as if time slows with them. The world becomes quieter, and our attention turns to what is close.

A warm hideout.
A fire glowing in the fireplace.
Long conversations.
Time together, with nowhere else to be.

Perhaps there is something especially beautiful about the darkness.

It gives us permission to pause.

Do you love mornings that make you stop?

This morning, I made a cup of coffee, looked outside and simply had to walk down to the shore. The morning was too beautiful to watch from indoors.

The sun was rising over Oulujärvi, slowly warming the horizon while mist drifted quietly from the lake. Everything was still. No plans, no hurry - just a cup of coffee, the lake and that special feeling you get when you realise how beautiful an ordinary morning can be.

This is how autumn begins here. The mornings are getting cooler, the light is changing and Oulujärvi is taking on a whole new mood. And these are exactly the moments I love about living here - the little invitations from nature to slow down and simply be.

Sometimes, you don't need to go anywhere. You just need to take your coffee to the shore.

Some places are beautiful.
Some places make you feel something.
There is a place at Ouluriver called Villa Kanttura.

It became one of the places Justin “Nordic Thunder” Howard discovered while searching for something that perhaps never existed in the first place: the legendary mystical chalice of Words and Poetry.

The six-part documentary series follows Justin on an extraordinary journey along our beautiful home area and ultimately discovering something much more meaningful along the way.

People.
Stories.
Art.
Nature.
Memories.
And moments that are difficult to explain.

For me, Villa Kanttura has always been more than a beautiful place. I have experienced some very powerful moments there myself. And I have watched guests experience something there too – something that cannot really be planned or put into an itinerary.

The mystical chalice may be a legend.
But the journey is real.
And sometimes, the journey is the treasure.
