☀️ La saison estivale est arrivée ! 🍔

À partir du mercredi 8 juillet, le Café du Commerce adopte ses horaires d’été et lance La Collection de Burgers du Commerce, accompagnée d’une carte repas élargie, désormais disponible le midi comme le soir.

L’été est le moment idéal pour partager un bon repas entre amis ou en famille. C’est pourquoi nous élargissons notre service de restauration avec un nouveau service de déjeuner, tout en conservant notre service du soir.

Commencez votre journée avec nos croissants tout juste sortis du four, notre célèbre brioche au bacon, un café Illy de qualité ou une sélection de thés.

Notre nouvelle carte est désormais disponible aussi bien au déjeuner qu’au dîner. Découvrez nos authentiques Smash Burgers, inspirés des célèbres diners américains, ainsi que nos pilons de poulet marinés servis avec frites et salade, notre tortilla espagnole servie avec frites et salade, et une sélection de plats préparés à la commande avec des ingrédients de qualité.

La Collection de Burgers comprend Le Classique, L’Espagnol, Le Savoyard, La Mer, Le Poulet Croustillant et Le Végétarien. Tous nos burgers sont servis avec des frites à peau croustillantes, des onion rings et notre coleslaw maison.

☀️ The Summer Season is Here! 🍔

From Wednesday 8 July, Café du Commerce is introducing its Summer Opening Hours and launching The Commerce Burger Collection, alongside an expanded food menu that will now be available at both lunch and dinner.

Summer is the perfect time to relax with family and friends, so we’re extending our food service with a new lunchtime service, while continuing to welcome you every evening.

Start your morning with freshly baked croissants, our popular bacon brioche, premium Illy coffee and a selection of fine teas.

Our new menu is now available at both lunch and dinner. Discover authentic American-style smash burgers, together with marinated chicken drumsticks served with chips and salad, Spanish omelette served with chips and salad, and a selection of freshly prepared dishes made with quality ingredients.

The Commerce Burger Collection includes The Classic, The Spanish, The Savoyard, La Mer, The Crispy Chicken and The Vegetarian. Every burger is served with crispy skin-on fries, onion rings and our homemade coleslaw.

It's a beautiful day here at Chateau Mareuil, and if you look very carefully at the bottom right of the photo, you can see the ancient doorbell refurbished by Lee on yesterday's episode of Chateau DIY (Channel 4, Series 6, Episode 15).

Ok, due to popular demand, here it is.......

Tiramisu made simple

Serves 6-8

Your guests will be super impressed by this delicious Italian inspired creamy dessert!

2tbsp instant coffee
2tbsp caster sugar
3tbsp brandy, rum or Baileys
150g bo***ir biscuits
250g mascarpone
150ml double cream (crème entière)
400ml custard/thickened crème anglaise*
50g plain chocolate, grated
10ml cocoa powder, sifted

*a 400g tin of English custard works best for this recipe, or thicken shop bought crème anglaise by heating and adding Maizena until you reach the right consistency.

Find you prettiest serving dish, preferably glass, so the layers can be seen, or make in individual glasses.

Place the coffee and sugar in a measuring jug, add 3 tablespoons boiling water and stir until the coffee and sugar is dissolved. Add the brandy or rum and top up with cold water to make 250ml liquid. Place biscuits to fill the base of the serving dish. Carefully pour over about half of the coffee liquid. Place the mascarpone, cream and custard in a bowl and whisk together until soft, smooth and creamy. Spread half the mixture over the soaked biscuits and sprinkle with half the grated chocolate. Top with the remaining biscuits and slowly drizzle with the rest of the coffee liquid until the biscuits are soaked through. Spread over the remaining mascarpone mixture and decorate with the remaining grated chocolate and sift over the cocoa powder.

It's very nearly time for the next series of everyone's favourite CHATEAU DIY!
Starting from Monday April 6th on Channel 4 at 5pm in the UK - our first appearance is on Wednesday April 8th.
How can this be our 9th year!
