The Vendanges Have Begun
There's something special about this time of year at Maison Le Mas as another chapter in the story of Cognac begins.
The vineyards that surround us come alive with the hum of harvesters, tractors pass by overloaded with grapes, and the smell of freshly pressed grape juice is in the air.
In our latest Journal article, we're taking you behind the scenes of the vendanges—explaining why this year's harvest has started earlier than usual, how the grapes become Cognac, and why harvest is one of our favourite times of year to be here in the Charente.
We're also delighted to feature the thoughts of Pierre Vaudon, Owner and Cellar Master of Cognac Voyer - Vaudon who shares his reflections on beginning his 26th harvest and his hopes for the 2026 vintage.
Whether you're planning a visit this autumn or simply curious about life among the vines, we hope you'll enjoy this glimpse into one of the most important moments in the Cognac calendar.
