Summer 2026 has several reservations at Les Bruyères already! People are taking the whole gîte for family and friends gatherings and staying longer in our area than previous years. Book your stay in Verteuil early, no deposit needed intil next year. And do small businesses a huge favor by reserving directly through the owners please. Merci! 🙏🤗

Les Bruyères will soon have a new co-host, my 19yo son Cooper! He's going to learn every aspect of the bed and breakfast business. He will be living here while studying French at the University of Poitiers language immersion program. Very proud mama here!

Did you know that Les Bruyères is a treasure trove of ammonite fossils? Not only are you staying in a characterful 500 year old farm, but if you look closely you can observe prehistoric animals hidden in the walls. Ammonites were ocean dwelling cephalopods ( the same group as octopuses) that went extinct 66 million years ago. This means that the stone of Charentaise houses was at one time long ago under the ocean! How many ammonites can you find at Les Bruyères? I find new ones all the time!

My lovely French clients, who were with me for 4 nights to attend a festival, bought me this pretty bracelet from our village Sunday market as a thank you gift for a great holiday. Merci Marie-Claude and Robert ( Kennedy... inside joke). The pleasure was all mine! 😍🥰

Oh happy day when this beautiful classic Jaguar rolls into Les Bruyères filled with lovely Irish guests! Going to be a great weekend here! I'm hosting guests for two weddings as well as an after party for one of them in the gite! Send good vibes for a dry Saturday! It's not rained in forever and of course it's in the forecast for a day with two outdoor weddings in Verteuil.
